WSG Degree Info Session

Women’s and Gender Studies (WGS) at The University of Texas is offering a new combined five-year bachelor’s and master’s program. It is the first program of it’s kind at UT Austin in the humanities field.


Students who major in Women’s and Gender Studies within the College of Liberal Arts may begin graduate courses their junior year if they met the academic requirements. Ideally, students should begin this process during the spring semester of their sophomore year. 

Students can take graduate-level courses for undergraduate credit, if they meet the following criteria:

  • 3.0 GPA
  • 60 hours of completed coursework, including timely progress in the UT Core/College of Liberal Arts and WGS major requirements
  • Consent of the instructor
  • Consent of the department’s undergraduate WGS academic advisor and graduate advisor
  • Consent of the associate dean for student affairs 

Freshmen and sophomores who are interested may attend an information session. All sessions will take place in Burdine Hall (BUR) 556.

Friday, Oct. 4; 9am-10 a.m.

Monday, Oct. 7; 10am-11 a.m.

Thursday, Oct. 10; 10-11 a.m.

Thursday, Oct. 10; 5-6 p.m.

Friday, Oct. 11; 4-5 p.m.
