National Medal of Technology 2010 -- call for nominations

Dear College/School and VP for Research ORU Research Contacts:

"The National Medal of Technology and Innovation is the highest honor for technological achievement bestowed by the President of the United States on America's leading innovators.

The Medal is awarded annually to individuals, teams (up to four individuals), companies or divisions of companies for their outstanding contributions to the Nation's economic, environmental and social well-being through the development and commercialization of technological products, processes and concepts; technological innovation; and development of the Nation's technological manpower."

The University of Texas at Austin will endorse the nomination of ONE institutional nominee.  Please select one nominee from your college/school or VPR ORU and submit to me electronically a letter of nomination and the name, contact information, and CV of your nominee no later than Monday, February 15, 2010.

The deadline for submitting 2010 nominations is close of business (5:00 p.m. EST), March 31, 2010
, and the nominee selected to represent UT must be prepared to provide at least six letters of recommendation.  Our office will secure the President's letter of nomination and assist the nominee with package completion.  Submission will be by this office.
