 Profiles by Francis Roman

The COLA Graduate Fellows are top doctoral students who are offered five years of competitive funding to undertake their studies. The College of Liberal Arts debuted the COLA Fellows program in 2012 as part of an effort to increase the quality and visibility of its graduate programs in terms of recruitment of top applicants, student support, training, professional-development opportunities, timely graduation, and placement. The program is directed by Professor John Huehnergard from the Department of Middle Eastern Studies, who is known locally, among other things, for a project to restore the ancient Phoenician and Hebrew letters that adorn the UT Tower.
