Welcome to the Race, Indigeneity & Migration program at the University of Texas at Austin. RIM is a new major offered by the College of Liberal Arts for the 2020-2022 Catalog. Housed within the African & African Diaspora Studies Department, RIM is an interdisciplinary major with faculty and courses from AADS, Asian American studies, Latina/o studies, LGBTQ studies, Native American and Indigenous studies and Women and Gender studies.

The RIM major aims to foster multicultural and comparative knowledge around issues of race, gender, sexuality, indigeneity, and global migration at the sites of law, policy, economies, cultural spheres and public education. The program will prepare students to become leaders in an increasingly interconnected world. By fostering an intercultural education across intersecting fields of study, RIM majors will have a critical world lens to address contemporary human and world problems.
