Americas Colloquium: “Scientists Confront Creationism," Myrna Perez Sheldon, Rice University

We will be reading the chapter, “Scientists Confront Creationism" from a manuscript called "Darwin’s Heretics."
Myrna Perez Sheldon is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Center for the Study of Women at Rice University. Her work examines the intersections between evolutionary science, American Christianity and cultural understandings of race, gender and sexuality in the United States. She received her Ph.D. in the history of science from Harvard University and her B.S. in biology from Westmont College. She will be joining the faculty at Ohio University in the fall of 2016, in a joint appointment to the Department of Classics and World Religion and the Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies Program.
