RS PhD Candidate Named SBL Regional Scholar
PhD Candidate G. Anthony Keddie

PhD Candidate G. Anthony Keddie has been named a 2016 Regional Scholar by the Society of Biblical Literature!

The Regional Scholar Award is sponsored by the SBL’s Council of Regional Coordinators to “recognize and promote promising entry level scholars in the field of Biblical Studies.” It is given to nominees who are at least ABD but who are no more than 4 years past the receipt of the PhD.  Each of the 11 SBL regions selects a nominee;  Tony was nominated by the Southwest Region on the basis of his presentation on “Mosaic Revelation and Social Transformation:  The Testament of Moses and Class Distinction in Early Roman Judea.”  From these 11 nominees, the SBL selects no more than 6 as Regional Scholars and supports their presentations at the national SBL conference the following year.

Congratulations to Tony for this well-deserved honor.
