Austin Polish Society is hosting their Annual Bigos Cook-off and Hike on Saturday, March 17.

Bigos is a delicious traditional Polish dish also known as Polish hunter’s stew. Bigos recipes vary quite a lot in Poland and here you will have a chance to try many variations of this tasty dish! There is a covered playscape for children, as well as room for soccer and more. All are invited to vote, taste, or just have fun.

Provided with entrance: sausages, bread, condiments, water, lemonade.

The hike will start at 5pm for 1.5-hours. It will start across the street from the picnic area. Comfortable shoes are needed.

APS is still looking for chefs to compete in this cook-off! If you are interested in competing, please contact Angelika Firlej at or 830-385-5389 by March 14, 2018. To compete you need to provide at least 2 gallons of Bigos in a slow cooker or crock pot (electricity is available).

Each contestant will receive an APS Bigos Cook-Off apron and the judges will award additional special prizes to the best three cooks.
