Ukrainian Band Antytila

The Ukrainian band, Antytila, will be in Austin for SXSW!
They will be performing at the Sheraton BackYARD and featuring some of their new music.

Antytila is a popular Ukrainian pop-rock band. Their repertoire includes songs in Ukrainian, Russian and English, and they have been creating music and videos since before 2004. However, in 2014, Russia annexed Crimea, and an unannounced war had begun in Ukraine. The band members began to actively assist the military in the east by collecting funds, purchasing medicines and remedies, and delivering the supplies themselves. Musical activity had stopped, but not for long. In 2015, Antytila published a new album, "Everything's Lovely", without interrupting their trips to the front lines. With the album "Everything's Lovely", the team carried out a large-scale tour in 30 cities of Ukraine and received 5 nominations for the National Music Awards. Their latest album "Sun" was publicly released on December 9, 2016.

Ukraine Exists: UN opens its doors for an art exhibition - Ukraine Today - Jan 2016
"The UN is hosting the first art exhibition about Ukraine since the Maidan. And it isn't light-weight - almost 14 hundred kilograms of art objects, pictures and installations brought from Ukraine by Taras Topolya and his colleagues.
Previously, he was a musician and front-man of  popular Ukrainian rock-band Antytila. Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, Taras now lives between Kyiv and the combat zone in Eastern Ukraine. He is now not just a rock-star but also a famous volunteer. The exhibit "Ukraine exists" is his dream come to life. It took hundreds of appointments, tons of petitions and fundraising to bring the art exhibition to New York City."
