Data & Donuts

UT Libraries is pleased to host another semester of the popular Data and Donuts workshop series this fall. There is a lot of new content as well as some old favorites. All workshops will be on Fridays at 3:00pm in the Perry Castaneda Library. Please check the attached flyer for additional topics and dates.

This workshop will be on Visualizing Spatial Data. There’s more than one way to skin a cat make a map. This new take on an old adage speaks to the recent proliferation of software tools and online platforms for visualizing data spatially. This workshop will provide a broad overview of commonly used tools, from powerful open source GIS software like QGIS to new online web mapping platforms like ArcGIS Online. If you have ever wondered how to make a map from a table of geospatial coordinates or a list of addresses – this session is for you. Live demonstrations will showcase the diverse array of mapping tools that are available to UT faculty, staff, and students for creating engaging visualizations from a variety of geospatial datasets. Hope to see you there!

If you have any questions about the workshop series, please contact: Jessica Trelogan, Research Data Services Coordinator, j.trelogan@austin.utexas.edu, 512-495-4267, PCL 3.324
