During the dissolution process of the former Yugoslavia in the 1990s the multiethnic Macedonia was considered to be an oasis of peace. This presentation will be concentrate on the period od the conflict during 2001, regarding current ethnical issues, freedom of religion, political tension and the future perspectives of the country towards integration into the EU and NATO.

Ali Musliu is an Assistant Professor at the State University of Tetova, Law School, taught undergraduate and graduate courses. His research interest includes the issues of Human Rights Law, Gender Equality, Freedom of Religion, International Human Rights Law, and Conflict Resolution. Dr. Ali Musliu has published several articles, and the recent “Patterns of Conflict Resolution in the Republic of Macedonia”, and “Violence against Women in Macedonia and Kosovo”.
