Announcing the 12-th Russian Spring Fest  Concert, May 27, Sunday 4 PM.

The concert, presented by Russian Speakers Society, will feature two  outstanding Russian groups - Limpopo and Flying  Balalaika Brothers. They will perform Russian folk music on traditional folk instruments in colorful costumes, melding with American bluegrass and contemporary international acoustic styles. The concert will appeal to lovers of all styles of music and is for all ages.  The artists are the best interpreters of that kind of music.
This project is funded and supported in part by the City of Austin through the Cultural Arts Division and by a grant from the Texas Commission on the Arts and an award from the National Endowment for the Arts, which believes that a great nation deserves great art.
Limpopo is a unique blend of tradition, creative talent, culture and originality. Self-described as “crazy Russian folk ‘n’ roll,” they appeal to a wide variety of audiences. Since their arrival to the United States in 1991, they have wowed every crowd, young and old.
Flying  Balalaika Brothers made their debut in 1995. Originally comprising of three members who were born in Russia, these virtuoso musicians combined their classical training with folk traditions. Presenting their music to small festivals (Gilroy Festival, Sawdust Festival, Valencia Street Market, Pecan Street Festival, Music Under the Stars, Kerrville Folk Festival), they were soon invited to perform in concert halls around the nation.
Adults - $20 • Seniors and students - $15 • Children age 12 to 17 - $10 • Children under 12 – Free
