CREEES is Proud to Announce its Continued Designation as a National Resource Center
for Russia and East European Studies

The Center for Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies at The University of Texas at Austin has been awarded the designation of National Resource Center (NRC) under the US Department of Education's Title VI of the Higher Education Act for 2018–2022.

National Resource Centers Program funding provides the means to establish, strengthen, and operate language and area or international studies centers that will be national resources for teaching any modern foreign language. Grants support includes instruction in fields needed to provide full understanding of areas, regions or countries; research and training in international studies; work in the language aspects of professional and other fields of study; and instruction and research on issues in world affairs.

CREEES also received prestigious Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) funding for the four-year period, which allows us to provide academic year and summer fellowships to undergraduate and graduate students studying our region's foreign languages and related area or international studies.

We would like to thank all of our staff and affiliated faculty for their support of CREEES and their assistance in applying for this grant!
