Lending Libraries

Outreach Materials

The Outreach Program of the Center for Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies maintains a book library for students and K-12 educators. Please come by the Burdine Hall 4th-floor lounge to see the collection (donated by CREEES donor Mr. Bruce Truitt).

DVD Library

The Department of Slavic and Eurasian Studies and CREEES maintain a DVD library of materials specifically for use by students taking courses in Russian, Polish, Serbian/Croatian and Czech, as well as for Slavic and CREEES faculty. The DVD library contains mostly Russian movies, but there are also Czech, Macedonian, Serbo-Croatian, Albanian, Polish, Tajik, Kyrgyz, Hungarian and Armenian movies. Thanks to the generous donation of the Austin Polish Society, the library has received over 30 Polish movies.

The DVD library is located in BUR 460. As this is an office, please visit during business hours (M–F, 8am–5pm) or place a request for a certain movie with a staff member of the Slavic Department to be picked up later.

** To borrow a movie you need to first come to BUR 452 and present a valid UT Austin ID. **

Movies can be checked out for up to 2 weeks at a time, or longer if no one else has requested use of the movie. Arrangements can be made for this purpose.

If a DVD disc is lost or damaged upon return, the borrower will have to provide a substitute copy of the movie or purchase the movie on-line and have it delivered to the Slavic Department.

If you have any questions, or would like to request a movie, please call (512) 471-3607.
