Andrew Cutrone is a PhD student in the department of sociology at the University of Texas - Austin. His interests are in Black studies, Black feminism, contemporary radical thought in the U.S., critical pedagogy, and abolition. Andrew received a B.A. and M.A. in sociology from the University at Albany, SUNY. He wrote his thesis on the aesthetic dimension of power in stand-up comedy, paying specific attention to racial and gender politics. In Austin, Andrew likes writing in its many coffee shops, biking, and hiking.
