Monica is a graduate student in the University of Texas at Austin Department of Sociology. Before coming to the University of Texas, she worked as a research assistant in the Columbia Business School Paul Milstein Center for Real Estate where she studied the efficacy of U.S. mortgage policy in the wake of the Great Recession, the fintech industry, and the role of housing wealth in retirement. She is broadly interested in wealth inequality, financial institutions, technology, and the impact of economic recessions on all of the above.
