Robert Crosnoe

Robert Crosnoe has received the Distinguished Contributions to Interdisciplinary Understanding of Child Development Award from the Society for Research in Child Development. Presentation of the award will take place at SRCD’s Biennial Meeting in March in Baltimore, MD.

Crosnoe is recognized "for leading the incorporation of social demography, developmental psychology, and public health into developmental research on the effects of social inequalities and immigration on children; for introducing developmental perspectives into the psychological and sociological processes underlying children’s social emotional, educational, and physical wellbeing; and for integrating social stratification, social structural processes, and human development within a life-course theoretical perspective to explain the developmental experiences of children."

Established in 1977, the collection of SRCD Senior Distinguished Contributions Awards recognizes SRCD members who have distinguished themselves over a sustained period of time in at least one domain of research and service. The Distinguished Contributions to Interdisciplinary Understanding of Child Development Award recognizes an SRCD member’s efforts to promote interdisciplinary understanding of developmental issues and forge ties across disciplinary boundaries, and was added in 2015.
