Faculty and Graduate Students Receive Social Science Article Award

"The Weight of Inequality: Socio-Economic Status and the Intergenerational Transmission of Child Nutrition in Brazil” published in Social Forces last June is the winner of the best paper award in Social Sciences by the Brazil Section of the Latin American Studies Association.
Social Sciences Article Award Winner recipients are co-authors Letícia J. Marteleto (associate professor), Luiz Gama, Molly Dondero, and Letisha Brown (current and former graduate students) at UT Austin.
Social Sciences Article Honorable Mention is also awarded to current graduate student, Katherine C. Jensen, for her article: “The Epistemic Logic of Asylum Screening: (Dis)embodiment and the Production of Asylum Knowledge in Brazil.”
Their work will be recognized at the Brazil Section business meeting in Barcelona.
