Mounira Maya Charrad's book, States and Women’s Rights: The Making of Postcolonial Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco (University of California Press, 2001), has been translated into Chinese. The 2017 Chinese edition is published by the National Academy for Educational Research, under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Education of Taiwan, which translates what members of the academy consider to have become classics in the social sciences.

The book has also been translated into Arabic and is soon to be translated into French.
