James Brow Conference

Join us for the opening of our conference celebrating the career of James Brow.

Patrick Olivelle, chair of the Department of Asian studies, will provide opening remarks. Henry Selby, UT Austin, will introduce the keynote speaker. Roderick Stirrat, University of Sussex, will present his keynote address: "The Engaged Anthropologist".

Professor of Anthropology at the University of Sussex, Roderick Stirrat, has worked extensively in Sri Lanka on fishing communities and Catholicism. More recently he has been engaged in the world of development, both as a consultant and as an anthropologist of the development industry.

A reception in the lobby of ACES will follow the keynote address.
