Scholar discusses connection between "Yoga and Warfare"

David Gordon White is a professor in the Department of Religious Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He received his Ph.D. from the Divinity School at the University of Chicago in 1988. He also studied Hinduism at the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes in Paris. Over the past fifteen years, his research and writing have been focused on the South Asian Hindu traditions of alchemy, yoga, and Tantra. He is the author of Myths of the Dog-Man (1991); The Alchemical Body: Siddha Traditions in Medieval India (1996); and Kiss of the Yogi: Tantric Sex in its South Asian Contexts (2003). His latest book, Sinister Yogis, is forthcoming.
