Fri, October 26, 2007 | Texas Union Theatre

8:00 PM

This feature film explores racism and gender over the past forty years in a story about redemption between sisters, mothers, and daughters. A multigenerational cast of talented black actors to explore, among other things, the obstacles facing black performers in Brazil's film and television industries. While race is the film's central theme, this sexy drama also looks at sexual values, family relationships, and the cultural divide between urban and rural Brazil. Director Joel Zito Araujo was a visiting researcher at the University of Texas at Austin in 2001.
