Gitanos sin Carpa documents the lives of three Romani (Gypsy) families and their everyday struggles to reconcile their traditional culture
with the advantages offered by cultural assimilation. The documentary depicts issues of discrimination, gender roles, adaptation to
mainstream culture, and frequent travel/migration implicit in Romani lives. It is a vivid and moving picture about Romani cultures in Chile and their struggle to preserve their Romani roots.

The documentary received the LASA Award in 2004.
