Application Instructions


DEADLINE: December 31, 2021. Applications are accepted for the Fall semester only.

The application should be completed in two steps.

I. Online application form - ApplyTexas

II. Supporting document submission via MyStatus Check (do not send hard copies):

1        Application fee (non-refundable). Can be paid with the application form submission or after. Fee must be satisfied before other supporting materials can be uploaded.

      Curriculum Vitae

3        Statement of purpose. In English (max. 1,500 words). Can be sent electronically with the application form or uploaded after the application form has been submitted.

4        Three letters of recommendation. Letters can be in English, Spanish, or Portuguese. Provide the email addresses of the recommenders on the application form; GIAC (the Graduate and International Admissions Center) will send electronic recommendation requests.

5        Undergraduate and graduate transcripts. Upload scan of official paper transcript for each institution listed on the status check web site.

6        Official GRE scores sent directly by the testing agency. 

7        Official TOEFL scores sent directly by the testing agency (required for international students only).

8        Electronic writing sample.  An academic paper written in English, Spanish or Portuguese (15-25 pages, double spaced).

Once your application materials are received you may be interviewed in person or by phone.
