2019 Commencement Information

The College of Liberal Arts hosts eight commencement ceremonies. Students should attend the ceremony applicable to their major. Commencement Information for All Students

The May commencement ceremonies are intended to honor the graduates and degree candidates for the entire academic year (fall 2018, spring 2019, and summer 2019).

Participation in a College of Liberal Arts commencement ceremony does not constitute graduation from The University of Texas at Austin.

Deadlines

Currently enrolled students can apply to graduate February 7 – April 8, 2019. Students who graduated in fall, or will graduate in summer, and wish to walk in the ceremony can sign up for the walk list in person in Gebauer (GEB) 2.306 through April 8, 2019. A full list of important deadlines is listed on the Application page.

Ceremony Recognition

During all Liberal Arts ceremonies, students will walk across the stage and have their names and Liberal Arts majors read.

Regalia

Academic regalia (cap, gown, tassel, and stole) are required for all ceremonies, and may be purchased from the University Co-op. Cap tassels and stoles for the College of Liberal Arts are white. The deadline to order regalia is May 12, 2019. Students should wear business casual attire underneath their regalia. Only academic related additions to the regalia will be allowed (i.e. Honor Cords, Honor Society sashes, etc.)
