University Writing Center

The Undergraduate Writing Center assists undergraduates with all stages of the writing process, from brainstorming and outlining to revising the final draft. UWC is staffed by graduate and undergraduate students specially trained to offer help with your class writing, application essays, creative writing projects, resumes, and more.

University Extension offers online courses that can be taken for UT credit. Courses taken through University Extension affect a student’s UT cumulative GPA, but do not count toward residency hours.

UHS provides healthcare and public health leadership to support students in reaching their optimal health so they can achieve their academic and personal potential. Use your MyUHS portal or call their office to schedule a telehealth appointment with a healthcare provider.

Counseling and Mental Health Center

The Counseling & Mental Health Center (CMHC) helps students with their personal concerns so that they can meet the daily challenges of student life. CMHC offers individual counseling, group therapy, psychiatric services, and telephone counseling. Call their office to schedule a Zoom appointment with a counselor and use your MyCMHC portal as directed.

The University of Texas has dedicated a website to COVID-19 positivity rates, estimated active cases, reopening plans for 2021, and additional resources.

COVID-19 Testing

27th Street Garage or a Proactive Community Testing Site | (512) 471-4955 (UHS)

If you have symptoms of COVID-19, you can schedule a telehealth pre-screen appointment through your MyUHS portal and get tested at the 27th Street Garage. If you do not have symptoms, you may be eligible for Proactive Community Testing. If you test positive for COVID-19, please report your test result to University Health Services.

Title IX Office

The Title IX Office seeks to provide leadership pertaining to the Title IX regulations, state laws, and University policies, as well as develop and implement best practices for prevention, training, resources, and support services at The University of Texas at Austin. UT Police

Founded in 1968, the University of Texas at Austin Police Department (UTPD) employs more than 100 sworn officers. It is a fully-functioning, accredited state police agency serving the UT community 24 hours a day. UTPD includes an investigative division, K-9 teams, bicycle teams and its own 911 dispatch center.
