CALL Meets Science - Linking Research and Teaching with the Grammatical Information System grammis

with Roman Schneider, Institute for the German Language, Mannheim

Mon, September 10, 2018 | BUR 337

4:00 PM - 5:00 PM

This talk presents an overview of Grammis (short for German “Grammatisches Informationssystem”), a web-based information system on German Grammar, hosted by the Institute for the German Language (IDS) in Mannheim. It brings together terminological, lexicographical, and bibliographic information for both linguistic researchers and language learners. The presentation covers the grammis’ core components – featuring more than three thousand scientific hypertext pages as well as various dictionaries and databases – and gives some in-depth information about modules that are especially interesting for Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL).
