Michelle Eilers, Graduate Student Researcher, University of Texas at Austin

Michelle Eilers is a Graduate Student Researcher in the Population Research Center at the University of Texas at Austin. She received a master’s in Demography and Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) in 2015 and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Sociology with a specialization in demography. Michelle is interested in research of reproductive health, relationship development and dynamics, and the life course. She joined the Texas Policy Evaluation Project in August 2017.

Prior to joining the TxPEP team, Michelle worked as a research specialist at the Office of Population Research at Princeton University. In this role, she led data cleaning and management for the Year 15 wave of the Fragile Families and Child Wellbeing Study and also managed the fieldwork and operations for the mDiary Study of Adolescent Relationships. While at LSHTM, she investigated the access and quality of Emergency Obstetric Care services and delivery care in hospitals and upper level clinics in Ethiopia.

Michelle is originally from central Texas is excited to return to Austin. In her free time, she enjoys trying new restaurants, seeing live music shows, and exploring new areas to run and bike in Austin.
