How Texas Shames Teens Who Seek an Abortion, New Statesman Op-Ed
New Statesman op-ed from Kate Coleman-Minahan.

A new op-ed in the Austin-American Statesman by TxPEP co-investigator Kate Coleman-Minahan examines how Texas shames teens who seek judicial bypass for abortion. The op-ed focuses on the experiences of teens in court, including the "humiliation and stigma" they undergo. Coleman-Minahan writes, "Forcing an adolescent to either involve parents who may abuse her or emotionally strip search her in court does not respect her autonomy or dignity. If we are to have a good-faith conversation about protecting young women, we need to accept what research shows: The judicial bypass process harms the very women it is supposed to protect."
