TxPEP Team Testifies for HHSC Hearing on Women's Health Programs
Texas State Capitol.

Today, TxPEP team members are presenting testimony at the Senate Health & Human Services Hearing on Women's Health Programs. TxPEP Associate Project Manager Chloe Dillaway, presenting on behalf of TxPEP lead investigator Dr. Joseph Potter, discusses TxPEP research on the unmet demand for highly effective contraception in the postpartum period and the promising rule change that allows for Medicaid to pay for the insertion of intrauterine devices (IUDs) and contraceptive implants immediately after delivery. TxPEP investigator Kari White is testifying on the need to give providers new to family planning program delivery technical assistance to offer the full range of contraceptive methods and to ensure that providers follow evidence-based guidelines. Read Dillaway and Potter’s testimony here and White’s testimony here.
