How to Embed a Web Link

In Cascade, there are two ways you can link to a different web page.

Option #1: Internal Linking

Step One: Highlighting the Text

Once you have navigated to the text editor for the body content of a page, highlight the text you want to turn into a link.

Step Two: Selecting the “Link” Button

On the toolbar of the text editor, click the button that looks like a chain link with the text still highlighted.

Step Three: Selecting “Internal” and then “Search”

A window will pop up that will allow you to edit the link. Be sure to check “Internal”. Then click on the “Choose File, Page, or Link” button.

Step Four: Selecting the Webpage

A new window will pop up that contains all the various folders on Cascade. Click no the “Browse” tab and navigate through the folders to find the page you want to link to. You can also use the search bar.

Click “Choose”. This will automatically redirect you back to the link-editing window.

Step Five: Selecting Your Target

The target determines whether clicking on the link will open up a new window or open in the current window.

Option #2: External Linking

When you wish to link to a web page that is not a part of the COLA website, link externally.

Step One and Step Two: Refer to “Internal Linking”

The steps are the same as if you were to internally link. Refer to the above instructions.

Step Three: Selecting “External” and Pasting the Link

Check the “External” box and paste the URL for the website you would like to link into the “Link” field. Click “Ok” when done.

If you want to unlink the text, highlight the text and click the “unlink” button (it looks like a broken chain link) from the text editor toolbar.
