Department of Mexican American and Latina/o Studies

Latino Studies at UT Austin, comprised of the Center for Mexican American Studies, the Department of Mexican American and Latina/o Studies, and the Latino Research Initiative, stands in solidarity with and supports all UT students and their families affected by the Trump administration’s decision to rescind the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). As in other difficult moments, we stand and work alongside all those that have worked towards their dreams for a better future, including the Dreamers who have resisted white supremacist and racist immigration policies. In addition to the resources President Fenves mentioned in his statement, we, the Latino Studies faculty and staff, are here to provide guidance and support for anyone in the UT community adversely affected by this decision.
