Partnership with Landmarks

The Humanities Institute recently partnered with Landmarks to bring photographer Ann Hamilton to the university as part of our 2016-2018 "Health, Well-Being, Healing" series. Commissioned by Landmarks for the Dell Medical School, Hamilton's project O N E E V E R Y O N E is a permanent art installation featuring several Austin residents that explores the necessity of human touch.

At the HI co-sponsored event, O N E E V E R Y O N E: A Conversation with Ann Hamilton, Landmarks distributed free copies of Hamilton's book, with 500+ photographs from the project. HI Director, Pauline Strong, led a discussion with Ann Hamilton, Brian Rotman, and Natalie Shapero, and Hamilton answered questions about her work from the audience. You can learn more about Ann Hamilton's visit here or watch her talk below.

Landmarks is an on-campus organization that promotes public art to enhance the natural beauty of the landscape. The multiple sculptures on campus also serve to educate through a visual representation of the historical art trends of the past six decades. We look forward to additional opportunities to partner with Landmarks!
