HI | Funding Strategy Interviews
The Humanities Institute conducted funding strategy interviews with a number of our Liberal Arts faculty who were awarded grants that intersect with the humanities. We asked them a series of questions meant to help fellow humanist scholars as they search for and apply to grants and fellowships. Interview questions asked included:
- How did you locate and identify funding opportunities for your work?
- What do you wish you had known before you had received the award?
- What were some unexpected hurdles and how did you overcome them?
- What was your approach to project or team management?
- How was writing a grant proposal different from an article/book/monograph?
- What input did you receive from colleagues or program officers?
- What advice would you give someone who is having trouble putting together a grant application?
We are deeply grateful to our faculty for taking the time to participate in these interviews.
