Honors
The Honors Program in Asian American Studies promotes intellectual curiosity by fostering original research in Asian American Studies. Intended for students who have shown academic excellence during their study at UT, this program is designed to expose students to methods, ideas, and work ethics at the standards of graduate or professional school. Working under the close mentorship of a faculty member, students undergo a two-semester sequence culminating in the completion of an original thesis. This sequence is taken in addition to the 24 credit hours counting towards the major requirements. By taking AAS Departmental Honors, you will graduate with 30 credit hours.
