American Studies Graduate Student Collective
The AMS Grad Student Collective's aim is to foster a greater sense of community within the department, through adoption of the following mission and goals.
Mission
We aim to support and promote graduate student engagement within the Department of American Studies and the broader university community through four Action Goals: Departmental Support and Engagement, Transparent Communication, Inclusive Community, and Reciprocal Community Support.
The Grad Student Collective aims to build connections between graduate students and faculty as peers in training while connecting students in professional and collegial settings. Our organization encourages open communication, collaboration, and the formation of new connections among members, which adds to our ability to address the unique needs and concerns of all graduate students.

Membership
All graduate students of the Department of American Studies who are currently enrolled at The University of Texas at Austin, those who were enrolled in the previous academic year, or those who will be enrolled in the next academic semester are active members.
