Academic Advising

The undergraduate advisor provides one-on-one advising regarding degree progress and planning, course registration issues, academic and career goals, university policies and procedures, campus resources, and any other academic issues that may arise. Anthropology Majors are encouraged to meet regularly with the advisor.

Important Spring 2026 Dates and Deadlines

March 16 - 21 - Spring Break

April 6 - 17 - Registration for Summer and Fall 2026. Please check your RIS for your specific registration windows (on or after March 3)

April 15 - Deadline to make pass/fail changes, q-drop, and withdraw. To execute these changes, you should meet with a Liberal Arts Student Division advisor.

While the search for a permanent ANT Advisor is underway, the Government Undergraduate Advising Office will assist ANT Majors with any questions or concerns. Please email us or schedule an appointment using the link(s) below.

So that we can best assist you, please include your UT EID in your email, as well as any specific questions.

Appointments may be booked up to 7 days in advance. If you do not see availability, continue to check, as each day will open up new availability.
Example: Check Monday for the following Monday, Tuesday for the following Tuesday, and so on.

  • No Show/Cancellation Policy

    Students should make every effort to attend their scheduled appointment.

    Students who are more than 10 minutes late for a 30-minute appointment may be marked as a no show and asked to reschedule. 

    If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please do so at least one hour prior to the appointment's scheduled start time.

  • Zoom Appointment Info

    For Zoom appointments, students must use their UT Austin EID to access the meeting. When logging into Zoom, select SSO and use "utexas" as the Company Domain. This will prompt you to enter your UT EID and password. For more information on using Zoom, see this page. Students who continue to encounter difficulty using Zoom should contact ITS.

    Please ensure that your audio is working and have your camera on.
