Advising

The Undergraduate Advisor for Anthropology provides one-on-one advising regarding degree progress and planning, course registration issues, academic and career goals, University policies and procedures, campus resources, and any other academic issues that may arise. Students who wish to declare a major in Anthropology must schedule an appointment with the advisor. All Anthropology majors are encouraged to meet regularly with the advisor.

For registration advising, major declaration, and other academic concerns, Jenna is available by appointment Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 12:00pm and 1:00pm to 4:00pm. To facilitate scheduling, please book an appointment. Students should plan to make appointments at least one day in advance. 

Students with general questions or minor concerns are welcome to contact Jenna by email. Email is Jenna's preferred means of contact as she is only on campus 3 days a week. 

No Show/Cancellation Policy

Students should make every effort to attend their scheduled appointment.

Students who are more than 10 minutes late for a 30 minute appointment may be marked as a no show and asked to reschedule. 

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please do so at least 1 hour prior to the appointment's scheduled start time. 

Zoom Appointments

For Zoom appointments, students must use their UT Austin EID to access the meeting. When signing into Zoom, select SSO and use "utexas" as the Company Domain. This will prompt you to enter your UT EID and password. For more information on using Zoom, see this page. Students who continue to encounter difficulty using Zoom should contact ITS.

Please ensure that your audio is working and have your camera on.
