Omar Cruz



Omar Cruz is a native of Texas, attending Judson High school in Converse TX and graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) with a Bachelors in Business Management in 2011, he also received his commission from the UTSA Army ROTC program into the Texas Army National Guard as a Field Artillery Officer.

He has served in multiple roles as a Field Artillery officer, a security officer in 4-133rd Battalion High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS), from there transitioned to Fire Directions officer and Platoon Leader within 1-133rd Field Artillery Battalion and now he serves as a Battery Commander there in Houston TX.

His Deployments and mobilizations include Afghanistan in 2016-2017 to Gardez in the Paktia province of Afghanistan as an Artillery Advisor to the Afghan National Army 203rd corps. In August 2018 he was mobilized for Hurricane Harvey Relief operations, where he served at Orange Country air field performing air operations and support for relief efforts and providing supplies to the local surrounding areas. From April to October 2018 he was mobilized to support Customs and Border Protection in Laredo TX, for Operation Guardian Support.

His civilian career was at Accenture Federal Services (AFS) where he was a software developer in SAP Systems with areas of concertation in Process Integration/Process Orchestration and BASIS on HANA. He also gained extensive experience working on Amazon Web Services (AWS) with multiple systems and servers and received different certifications and achievements.

His Military education and Civilian Certificates include Joint Fires Observer, Army Combative Level I and II, Comp TIA Security Plus , ICAgile Certified professional
