Ishan Chakrabarti wins Rapoport-King Scholarship for thesis research

Ishan Chakrabarti has won the 2007 Rapoport-King Scholarship for his Asian Cultures and Languages Bachelors thesis on biographical writings from India in the 1600's.

Dr. Yukie Aida selected to serve on the Advanced Placement (AP) Japanese Language and Culture Redesign Commission

The College Board chose Dr. Aida because her course documents for the College Curriculum Study conducted by the Educational Policy Improvement Center (EPIC) surfaced as an exemplar of best practices.

The Department of Culture, the Government of India and the Central Institute of Indian Langauges awarded Dr. Mohammad the literary award Bhaashaa Samman for his poetry book Valasa (migration), which was written in Telugu.

Mr. Firestein served as Adjunct Professor of Russian and East European Studies in Fall 2006 at UT-Austin and currently works in the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs' Office of Public Diplomacy.

Dr. Mark Metzler is one of four runner-ups for Hamilton Book Award

The Robert W. Hamilton Awards for Academic Excellence presented by the University Co-op recognize leading University of Texas authors. The Hamilton Award is one of the highest honor of literary achievement given to published authors at the University of Texas at Austin.
