Day 1: Memory
Wed. February, 10th from 1:00 -5:00 p.m. CT
We’ve come a long way since the Precursors first stepped foot on the Forty Acres in 1956. Join the Black Studies Collective as we take a trip down memory lane with the UT Precursors who helped integrate the university. We’ll also highlight Black faculty and staff activism and reflect on the history of UT’s Black student enrollment.

Day 2: Reality Check
Thur. February 11th from 1:00 -5:00 p.m. CT
Join the Black Studies Collective as we host three separate conversations with students, staff and faculty regarding our community’s current state of affairs. We’ll discuss with each panel the current challenges facing their community on campus and learn more about the work being done to address those challenges.

Day 3: Pay it Forward
Fri. February 12th 11:00 a.m. -1:30 p.m. CT
State of Black UT is wrapping up our last day with a pitch competition. We’ve taken a trip down memory lane, assessed how far we’ve come and where we are currently. Now we’ll explore how to pave the way for future generations of Black students, staff, and faculty. We’ll wrap things up with our keynote: a live-recorded episode of Race and Democracy podcast with Dr. Peniel Joseph.
