The Value of a Liberal Arts Degree

The Human Skills Matrix on the right was developed by the Jameel World Education Lab at MIT. This resource "quantifies the critical skills and attributes that individuals will need in the rapidly changing workplace of the future." We believe that Liberal Arts students develop and practice these skills and more during their time at UT through coursework, experiential learning, and extracurricular activities. We encourage students to articulate their skills and experiences and can help identify opportunities to continute to develop these skills in additional to technical skills.
Who We Serve
Who We Serve
Liberal Arts Students & Recent Graduates
We provide comprehensive services to currently enrolled, degree-seeking undergraduate and graduate Liberal Arts students. Undergraduate students have access to our services from the first year to one year beyond graduation, and Graduate students have access from the first year to the month of graduation.
Liberal Arts Alumni
Alumni from the undergraduate program within one year of graduation have full access to our services. We invite all alumni - regardless of graduation date or degree program - to attend our career fairs and all alumni have lifetime access to HireUTexas, the campus-wide job board.
UT Austin Students
Non-Liberal Arts students who are currently enrolled at UT Austin in pursuit of a degree in any discipline have access to law school admissions coaching.
Employers
In our goal to connect students with job and internship opportunities, we partner with employers across all sectors to provide job posting boards, career fairs, information sessions and other recruiting events and resources to connect with top talent at UT. We partner with members of our College and University communities and with members of our wider Austin and Texas communities in a variety of career-related areas.
