Case Interviews

Case interviews are typically used by consulting firms to test a candidate’s problem solving and soft skills. Case interviews last 30-45 min each and firms can utilize up to 6 case interviews, usually divided into 2 rounds. The candidate must analyze and solve a business scenario while explaining and interacting with the interviewer. In a case interview, there’s an expectation that the candidate is knowledgeable about relevant business terminology while conducting in-depth analysis.

Case studies are often based on a problem/scenario the interviewer has worked on in real life. This part of the interview is intended to be similar to a dialogue where the candidate needs to be proactive about ask questions when attempting to close in on the correct conclusion. Case studies are often used in banking, sales, finance, or HR industries.
