Law School Application Fees Scholarship
Liberal Arts Career Services is excited to offer scholarships to selected pre-law students entering law school in Fall 2024. Scholarship funding must be used for LSAT registration, CAS registration and application fees for pre-law students applying to law schools.
Scholarships
Scholarships in the amount of $1000 each will be granted to selected recipients.
Student Applicant Criteria
Students who meet the following criteria are invited to apply:
- degree seeking undergraduate UT Austin student;
- must have demonstrated financial need;
We also recommend that all students check with the financial aid office regarding how accepting this scholarship could potentially affect their financial aid package.
Scholarship Criteria
In order to be eligible for this scholarship, your application process requires the following:
- plans to take the LSAT and apply to law schools during the Fall 2023 - Spring 2024 admissions cycle
- committed to starting law school in Fall 2024
Application Dates
The scholarship portal is set up by semester; selected participants who have already received funding will not be eligible to apply in future semesters. It is recommended to apply to law schools early in the admissions cycle (August - December) due to most law schools’ rolling admissions policies.
Summer Semester Application Opens: June 1, 2023, 12:00 AM CST
Summer Semester Application Closes: July 31, 2023, 11:59 PM CST
Fall Semester Application Opens: August 21, 2023, 12:00 AM CST
Fall Semester Application Closes: November 30, 2023 11:59 PM CST

The application includes a 500-word essay with the following prompts:
Why are you applying to law school, how will attending law school support your long-term legal career goals?
How will these funds help you overcome financial adversities related to applying to law school?
If known, please provide information regarding your top choice of law school.
Selections & Thank You Note
Selected recipients will receive $1000 in two equal disbursements: $500 upon selection and $500 at the end of the semester.
Prior to receiving the second half of the scholarship disbursement, recipients will be required to submit a thank you note to the donors describing how the funds you received were helpful in your law school admissions process and how this scholarship will help you advance your law school and legal career goals.
