Curriculum Integration Program

Many students are initially turned away from study abroad programs because they find them to be hard to commit to, too expensive, or that the programs would set them back from their four-year graduation plan, but the University of Texas' innovative curriculum integration approach to studying abroad addresses all these issues.

The study abroad department has created major specific booklets that help guide students toward a path of studying abroad. The booklets provide a great start for students who may never have thought studying abroad was possible financially or for their major. Most of the programs listed are exchange programs, which means that students abroad still pay their home tuition price. This makes studying abroad more affordable than other programs offered. Students can also clearly see which courses will be able to work for them abroad and still fit into their four-year degree plan. Additionally, on the My Credit Abroad Database, students can check exactly how courses they take abroad will transfer back to the University of Texas.

Education Abroad has worked closely with Australian universities to profile many different universities in order to support exchange programs between them and the University of Texas and to come up with courses in Australia that match up to UT courses. UT has become the second university in the United States for sending students abroad. In addition, the number of students going to Australia has doubled since 2011.
