The American Australian Association
The Association offers scholarship awards of up to US$40,000 each year to Australians and Americans for advanced graduate or postgraduate research and study in the United States and Australia respectively. Fields of research supported by the scholarships include: business, engineering, journalism, art, neurology, pediatrics, science, geosciences, mathematics, sustainability, medicine, and technology.
Requirements: applicant’s research or study must be at graduate or postgraduate level; acceptance into a US or AUS educational institution; Australian or US citizen or permanent resident.
National Library of Australia Fellowships
Recipients undertake residency at the National Library to enable a sustained period of research based on the Library’s collections. Fellowships may include an honorarium, travel, and accommodation support, and all Fellows benefit from a fully equipped office and access to the Library’s collections, staff, and resources to conduct in-depth research for up to three months. The intensive research enabled by the Fellowships can focus on Australian or international collections, with a view to creating publications or other public outputs. The Fellowships are open to persons of any citizenship.

The Fellowship is funded by the Stout Trust and will be working closly with The Stout Research Centre at Victoria University of Wellington. It has been created to foster research in New Zealand society, history and culture by providing the Fellow with an opportunity to work within an academic environment for the year of tenure. The Fellowship is open to researchers in any area of study relating to New Zealand society, history or culture, but is not intended to fund the writing of a novel, play or other literary work. Applicants should be scholars of high standing, with an established publication record, who have a particular project they wish to initiate or complete. There is no restriction on either the nationality or occupation of applicants. Applications for the JD Stout Fellowship are generally invited during August-September of the preceding year. The Harry Ransom Center, an internationally renowned humanities research library and museum at The University of Texas at Austin, will award fellowships for projects that require substantial on-site use of its collections. The fellowships support research in all areas of the humanities, including literature, photography, film, art, the performing arts, music, and cultural history. The HRC holds many materials of interest to scholars working on Australian and New Zealand topics. United States citizens and foreign nationals are eligible to apply.
