Thu, October 17, 2019 | WAG 403B

5:00 PM

We will be looking at Plato's images of the sun and the divided line, both key representations of the manner in which human beings are capable of knowing. This discussion is meant to continue the discussion of the second sailing in the Phaedo, though you needn't have attended the earlier discussion to attend this one.

The reading may be found here. Begin with Glaucon's question at 506b.  Government Department graduate student Jonathan Jiang will lead the discussion.
