Women's and Gender Studies is part of a new interdisciplinary major: Race, Indigeneity & Migration (RIM) launching Fall 2020. RIM is the new Liberal Arts bachelors program housed in the African & African Diaspora Studies Department. The major is a collaboration between: African & African Diaspora Studies, Latina/o Studies, Asian American Studies, LGBTQ Studies, and Native American & Indigenous Studies.

The Center for Women's & Gender Studies at UT-Austin has grown from offering a few courses in 1979, to a nationally recognized, interdisciplinary graduate and undergraduate program.
