At the undergraduate level our core curriculum includes: Introduction to WGS, Feminist Research Methods, Feminist Theory and Senior Seminar. At the grad level, it includes Grad Writing Seminar, Research Methods, and Feminist Theories.
 
  • How many professors are core faculty members in your program/department? How many are affiliated?

  • What are the specific requirements for graduation for minors, majors, and/or graduate students (i.e, capstone, special projects, thesis, etc.)?
Minors: 15 to 18 hours see course requirements here: https://liberalarts.utexas.edu/cwgs/undergraduate/minors-and-certificates.php Majors: Degree plan found at the bottom of this page: https://liberalarts.utexas.edu/student-affairs/Majors-and-Minors/Degree-Plans.php. The WGS major requires a senior seminar, and a one-semester thesis or internship. Graduate students: Degree plans attached as PDFs. Our MA program requires a thesis or a report: https://liberalarts.utexas.edu/cwgs/graduate/thesis-report.php 
 
  • Is there any other information you would like to share with us?
We are working on adding a WGS PhD program. As is, many of our MA students go on to PhD programs in other departments at UT or at our peer institutions. This handbook describes the structure of the Center for Women’s & Gender Studies (CWGS), requirements for the Master of Arts and Dual Degree and Portfolio programs, and relevant student information.
