Program Handbook

The program handbook works in conjunction with the Graduate Catalogue to lay out the program requirements and the requirements for both the Master of Science in Economics and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. As with the Graduate Catalogue, students finishing within six years can obtain degrees by meeting the requirements listed in any handbook published during their tenure in the program. A more detailed description of these rules can be found here: https://catalog.utexas.edu/graduate/degree-requirements/doctor-of-philosophy/.

The first program handbook is the 2019-2020 Handbook, and that handbook lays out the degree requirements and courses for students starting in the 2019-2020 Academic Year as well as those who started in earlier years. Starting with the 2020-2021 Handbook, the handbook lays out the program requirements for students starting the program in that year.
