Undergrad TA Application Now Open
The Economics department is currently hiring for undergraduate TA positions. Applications are due by May 16.
All applicants must meet the following requirements:
1) Completed ECO 304K and ECO 304L
2) Earned a B+ or higher in your UT economics courses
3) Have at least a 3.33 UT GPA
4) Be enrolled for 12 hours
Work-study applicants are encouraged to apply (work-study eligibility is not required).

As an Undergraduate TA, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your professional skillset as you share your academic knowledge with your peers.
Positions are not open year-round and are subject to instructional demand. Available positions may be posted in November and late July/early August, subject to departmental need.
Undergraduate assistants will communicate in a clear and organized manner so that others can effectively understand, make decisions and solve problems using sound, inclusive reasoning and judgment, and act equitably with integrity and accountability to self, others, and the organization.

- Requirements
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Completed ECO 304K and ECO 304L
- Earned a B+ or higher in your UT economics courses
- Have at least a 3.33 UT GPA
- Be enrolled for 12 hours

- Qualifications of Ideal Candidate
- Must be available to grade final exams
- Punctual, consistent work attendance
- Detail-orientated and able to meet deadlines
- Articulate, having strong interpersonal skills with students and instructors
- Job Expectations
Undergraduate Assistants provide classroom support to faculty in courses such as:
- ECO 329 Economic Statistics
- ECO 330T Eco Of Money: Past To Bitcoins
- ECO 320L: Macroeconomic Theory
- ECO 325K: Health Economics
- ECO 371M: Social Economics
Responsibilities include:
- Hold online office hours to answer general course questions
- Proctoring exams
- Grading tests and assignments
- Preparing course materials
- Performing clerical tasks related to class records
- Assist with course-related work as assigned by instructors
- Shifts
- On average, students are scheduled to work 10 hours weekly.
- Hours are flexible and will be based on classroom needs (e.g., office hours, exam proctoring, grading homework, etc.)
