Fifth Year Master's Programs

 

MA in Economics

The MA program offered by the Department of Economics is STEM-designated and offers a rigorous curriculum with quantitative training in economics. Established in the 2013-14 academic year with an initial cohort of 40 students, the MA program is now one of the top ranked terminal Economics master’s degree programs in the U.S., at one of the top ranked universities internationally.

 

ECON-MPA

The ECON-MPA is designed for current UT undergraduates majoring in economics. Students who complete the ECON-MPA curriculum earn both a BA degree in economics and a Master in Professional Accounting (MPA) degree.This program enables outstanding undergraduates to complete twelve hours of graduate accounting courses in their senior year toward obtaining a masters degree.

 

McCombs MS Bridge Programs

The MS Bridge Programs are sequential dual-enrollment programs that enable outstanding UT Economics undergraduate students to obtain a B.A. degree in Economics and a Master's of Science degree in the course of five years.

Students can apply for admission to the program their junior year. The GRE/GMAT is waived if the student's GPA is above a 3.5.

If accepted, students will take three Master's level classes the summer before their senior year. They complete the rest of the program in the year following obtaining their Economics degree.

These programs also all offer a traditional route. The GRE/GMAT is required for the traditional route.
